on the Don Stith classic BR fiddleback maple,,,

going to rub it down to 800 grit and shoot one more light coat ,,

I am a very happy with how this thing is coming together,,it took me about a year to buy all the parts and pieces ,,

I cant wait to see how the sun makes that fidelback just go crazy with the light hitting the stock at different angels,it is hard fr me to explain but I am really happy with this stock and would recommend Don to anybody,

That ought to be one stable platform with the wide forearm. Them stripes are really starting to pop with the lacquer coats being applied. Great job so far.

I keep coming back and staring at the pictures. Cannot get over how nice it looks. Earlier posts showing the bedding were very impressive, that is gunsmith quality work. This is working out to be one great build. Thanks for the pics.

thanx for the positive replys,,I have bedded a few rifles before and finished a couple,,they were all serviceable and shot very well but I have had a lot of coaching with this one and am trying to make it look as professional as possible,,
I think it is turning out better than I thought but I used some advice and technique that I would have never thought of and honestly didnt think would work when I did it but it came out exactly like I wanted,,

letting the barreled action settle in on its own weight and not tightening the nuts on the bedding and not adding any color to the stock before the clear were major factors I would have done different without advice from an older gentleman that talked me through how to finish the maple stock,,
