First trip to Dead Zero

Went with a friend as a guest and got to see the range. NICE is the word! That facility is top notch IMO, very nice. Got to shoot the Creedmoor and learned a lot, as in how hunting bullets drop WAY faster than target bullets! :D Anyway I had a real blast! Didn't get to get the WinMag on deck tho but hoping to go back this coming Saturday. I can see that I need to find a different bullet for the Creedmoor if I want to do some longer distance target shooting, as my .509 BC hunting bullets just don't cut it compared to bullets with high 600s BC. I'm still learning, and it's fun.

I also shot 800 yds but the wind had picked up and my group size opened way up, plus the drop from 600 to 800 was a lot more than I expected.

Those shotmarker e targets are great aren't they? Instant feedback on your shots. Once you get dialed in then enlarge the screen to the 9 or 10 ring for better reference. You can then save them to you device for later study. I've learned a lot by studying my targets as the shots are also numbered in sequence. Thanks for sharing.

Download an AP called StrelokPro. Once you plug in the variables, you can build any drop chart. It's factors in everything including environmental factors. You can even measure your speed based on known drop and required correction.

Yes they are. But the screen is a little misleading LOL Looks like I've got 3 touching on the screen, but the spread shows up in the data columns and kinda brings it back to reality. :D

Yes. When I shot there last year, we used the electronic targets at 1000 yards and it gave us the velocity and group size. There may have been more data available but that is what I remember.

Yes, velocity at target, along with average velocity per # of shots, group size, and SD. I think there may be more info available, but not certain about that.

How will the drop chart help you with the weather, temp, humidity, BP changes up there. ?
