First time food plot

I am going to make a attempt this year making a food plot. I have a tractor and disc so breaking the ground is covered.

What do you guys plant and when? I have been given permission buy the land owner to disc up about 1/4 to 1/2 an acre.

I would post this in the Mgmt section. You'll get lots of excellent advice.

#1 Get your soil tested and resolved.

A lot of folks like clover. Don't discount winter wheat/ grain rye mix (simple and not too expensive).

IMO- don't get all exotic the first time around. I went crazy with brassicas 2 yrs ago and NOTHING touched it.
