What can I say... Im hooked! I've heard lots of people talk about the success you can have on the Caney with a fly rod. I decided to give it a try last weekend. I couldn't believe the number and size of the fish I caught. The pic below is my personal best. I was using a 7 ft rod and fishing a Clouser Minnow streamer. I could only get the fly about 20 feet from the boat but I'm sure I'll improve with practice. Turns out during generation floating down with the current, 20 feet is plenty. I'll be taking the fly rod with me every trip from now on!

Heck yeah biglures,
I couldn't keep missing all the fun!

Thanks LA,
Sorry to hear about the LSwho affliction. I'm an Auburn fan so I'll probably be eating my words this weekend. We haven't shown enough offense to beat any SEC team yet this season. May the best team win though. I've got a few LSwho fans and we all get along except for one weekend out of the year.

Awesome fish RIK. Good to hear from ya again. I'm the one with the Gheenoe that caught the 18 inch rainbow, when we camped out.

will one of yall take an old woman out to the caney and teach her to fly fish?

I can cast a reel but never had a fly rod in my hand.
always wanted to try though.

scrub,
21.5 is what I measured with shaking hands, so I just said 21"-22".

doe,
I'm just now learning the fly so you might want to ask someone more experienced. I'm afraid it would be a situation of blind leading the blind =~)
