Heard and saw my first snow geese today…seems a bit early, may be a sign

First group about 10 am this morning over Selmer…second larger group this evening n Corinth, MS.

Odd thing, both groups flying east to west.

Had a group of 40 geese in one of our cut corn fields earlier today. Haven't seen any Sandhills yet- won't be long

Cranes flying south the past two days over Wayne County, more than I can ever remember seeing.

I have always heard some type of geese or crane before daylight and was told a few years ago that they fly at night often, sounded crazy to me but I knew nothing of them, 3 am in Cumberland county sounded like a few hundred went over, darker than dangit so only had my imagination to see them lol , this has always been late bow early gun season so reckon they were headed south.

I had 20 or so geese fly over me yesterday and they were making a sound I've never heard before. They were not snow geese or canada geese. Maybe specklebelly? I have no idea.

Specks probably unless they were Sandhills?

I went outside last night at about 11PM and heard what must've been a huge flock headed somewhere.

Possible. I don't remember what it sounded like, but it was something I've never heard before. Do they fly in a formation like geese?

I bet that's what it was then. I hope they look very similar to geese when flying since I thought that's what it was. In my defense, I was fishing, heard the noise, looked up in time to see them for a couple seconds before the trees blocked them.

I was hunting hiwassee refuge yesterday and heard a group of speckle belly's fly over very high. I couldn't believe it. But I'm 100% certain of the calls I heard.

I went camping in Little Rock this past weekend with the Scout Troop, and on our way back, saw a number of groups of geese flying both southbound AND northbound near the White and Cache rivers.

I heard snows flying all morning not too far off the river in Hardin County Saturday morning. Didn't ever see any of them or pay attention to which direction they were going but I know that's what they were.
