First Finds

It's almost embarrassing that I've been an outdoor enthusiast and Hunter for decades without ever deliberately looking for arrowheads; until yesterday! While visiting a family farm, some cousins and I perused a recently plowed garden area after a big rain and found lots of chips and a number of cool pieces. I'd appreciate it if someone would give me an idea of what we found. A couple of rocks fit perfectly in my hand, but I'm not sure if they were actually tools, or not. Also, this sight is a couple hundred yards from a beautiful flat area in the bend of a creek. The creek is mostly pretty shallow, but has a nice deep hole at the bend. I cannot imagine the spot not being a great settlement, or camp sight. I presume that too would be a good place to look.

Looks to me like you're in a great spot. I would definitely test out that area along the creek you're talking about but if it floods you might not find anything. A lot of time you find the best stuff on the first flat ground above the flood level .

I definitely would if I was you. You don't find that much stuff in one area if it wasn't a pretty populated place. Keep us posted on your finds

My cousin and I went back to the same area after another disking and this is what we found. With a hard rain I think it would be a lot better. If anyone knows much about these artifacts, I'd love to hear about it.

Nice finds!! Zero doubt after a good rain I'd get back to that spot!! Congrats!!
