Putting this here, because more deer pics are always good.

Got a Reezen 6.5 this year, hunted hard all bow season.

Does were on high alert yesterday with young bucks like this one cruising. This guy never hesitated to walk right in front of me @ 18 yds. First deer with a bow, and worked hard for it.

Those of you reading this that may not have stuck a deer before:
Don't do what I did and ignore good advice. After the shot, stay still, don't move- I sat down and he ran. Made a 40-yard track into a 500-yarder.

Rage 2-blade did its job.

I've killed bigger, but the first bow buck is exciting.

Thanks, all-

everything is looking great for this weekend, at least in Davidson county. Deer are moving, and rubs and scrapes are everywhere.

I'm definitely taking my bow along this weekend; I am hooked!

Thanks- looks like the rut is winding down in north Nashville. Scrapes are old, and young bucks are just messing around, not in a hurry. I've seen fewer does also.

Other good news - I took a buddy to the same property this morning, and he killed his first deer. A 1 1/2-year-old 8 pointer, big body too.

Friend's first deer ever, 200 yards from my first archery deer. He stuck it out in 23 degrees, and at 7:45 he shot this 1 1/2 y.o. Pictures don't do justice to how much this deer's face looked like a yearling, very short nose. But a good body and 8 pts - hopefully there's more of his genetics on the property.
