First deer hunt on Foothills WMA

So, on opening day of MZ I went up to Foothills to poke around and get an idea of the place. It was Rough country for sure but it was interesting to say the least. pretty place too. Spooked a buck walking in, but couldn't get a clear shot. I hiked my butt off up there and found a couple of deer trails and one pile of droppings (pretty scarce sign overall) Hiking was real interesting though. On my way back to the entrance I had three bears run across the road bed about 20 yards in front of me and scared me S***less! Let's just say my 45 minute walk turned into 2 hours due to going completely around that spot to avoid them LOL. then almost stepped on a snake when crossing the creek. I felt like Jeremiah Johnson when he was just getting started! Pilgrim lol. Pretty cool overall.

Sure was! It wore me out though. I live about 20 minutes from there, and i figured it's worth learning it a little more since its so close
