Stiller Predator V right bolt left port action with Jewell BR trigger,,no safety,,bedded in the Shehane ST1000-F stock and a 35x45 Leupold LCS scope with a super fine crosshair,,28" Brux 8 twist 1.250 tapers to 1.100 at mzl chambered in the underrated 243 Win case,,

I got a box of Lapua 308 Palma brass with the 6BR design web and small primer pockets,,I necked down to 243 and turned necks ,,

started load tests with CCI 450 Magnum primers ,RL26 powder and Berger 105 VLD orange box Hunting bullets,,

accuracy started coming in at 46.5 and tightened up at 47.5 and started opening at 48.5 so I loaded some rounds at 47.5 and like what I see and hope to fine tune seat depth and get the vertical out and hope it doesnt go haywire when it gets hot,,,looks like a good starting place,,

if you cant read the chrono screen the low is 3304 and the high is 3322,avg 3314 with SD of 5,,,target is 5 rounds at 100 yards in the .285 range,,

according to JBM that will be less than 20 MOA come ups to 1,000 yards

yes I will try other powders,,I was really just testing to make sure the small primers would lite off a caseful of slow powder,,

H1000 and IMR 7828 are next

I will say those 105 VLDs at 3314 are really flat shooting and hold pretty well in wind,,,,in any other rifle back down to about 43 grs and work up,,

Very nice and great shooting!

RL26 is working very well for me in many cartridges, it's a great powder.

what all rounds have you tried it in,,it is pretty dang slow but is heavy for it`s volume and you can get a lot more of it in a case than H1000 or similar powders,,

I've tried it with the following thus far:

243 w/100gr
260 w/ 140-143gr
280AI w/160-162gr
300 WSM w/215gr (

It's the first powder I plan to try in my 6.5x284 when I get it back with the 147gr ELD-M's. It has yielded a large gain in speed with low ES/SD in most of those cartridges.

You're right, it has a high density which makes it great in the smaller non-magnum cartridges that would benefit from slower powders.

I shot my 105 VLD H4350 load from my other 243 today and it shoots better than the RL26 load at 3180 fps,,

hopefully put it on paper at 600 yards this w/e and see which load shoots best at range,,my next bbl will be a 7.5 twist to shoot the new 110 SMK and 115 DTAC ,,
