First buck!

This is my first buck, and my first muzzleloader kill. I was hunting the same spot I was at yesterday morning when I missed a shot at a really nice doe. I hunt from the ground using natural cover, and once I got positioned I did a couple bleats and a couple grunts. After about 10 minutes I heard something rustling in the leaves at the top of the ridge. I thought it was a squirrel actually, but then I saw him headed my way. He was making a beeline straight towards the next ridge. I shot him on the move not 15 yards away from me. He dropped in his tracks.

He dressed out at 120 pounds.

So, I know he's not the biggest, but I'm tickled all the same.

Good first deer. Never be ashamed of what you kill, or feel the need to explain. Just have fun doing what you love. That is a good buck. You can bet I would lower the boom on him. I have killed bigger and smaller.

Just remember, no matter how you cook them, stewed, b-b-q, fried, baked, or grilled you will never make an antler edible. I don't care how big the antler is, you just can't eat them.

Not a thing wrong with that buck. Sounds like you had an exciting hunt and that's what it's all about.
