First bow buck!

Just shot my first bow buck about 45 minutes ago! He's a 2 1/2 - 3 year old 7point. Not a monster but I've been wanting to shoot one with my bow. Shot was a little far back. Complete pass through and arrow is covered with dark red blood. Waiting on some back up to help track him now. We'll probably wait a few hours before tracking. Say a little prayer for me guys! Hopefully I'll have pictures coming soon.

Sounds like liver and maybe some lung too, I bet he is dead. My first bow buck was a bit far back and I did not wait long enough to track him, ended up bumping him and he went another 300+ yards. Give him time and you'll find him and congrats on the first

Congrats! Like others said, sounds like a liver shot. I hit one there a few years back. made it 150 yds. Thought it as a doe, but it was a button.

may want to give him some time. If a BB can make it 150 yds, I wonder how far a bigger buck can make it.

Thanks guys! We looked for a few hours and blood is minimal. Followed it to the woods and found where he went in at. Going to try and burn a vacation day and go look in the morning

Been looking for several hours today. Never found any more blood after the last spot we found last night. Went all through the woods around there. Checked both known bedding areas and both ponds. Walked the edge of a large ditch that it looked like he was headed to and nothing! Haven't seen any buzzards in the area either. Taking a water break now and going to give it another hour or so of looking
