Well I'm not much of a turkey hunter but thought I'd go after work yesterday evening. I got there and immediately I see turkeys. He was with three hens and another big guy. They didn't want anything to do with me calling so I made the decision to sneak around the side of the hill. It was going to be rough seeing as they were in the middle of a field, but I tried anyway. After an hour of crawling and laying on my belly hoping to get in range I finally popped up on my knees about 30 yards away to see his red head. It was a bang flop with the ol 870 12 gauge. He was a good bird with a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. I worked my butt off for him and honestly don't know of a more rewarding turkey hunt I've been on.
