Looks like Sunday afternoon/Monday morning should be good. Rain Sunday here in E. TN and is supposed to stop mid afternoon. Monday morning a low of 40 here, 20 degrees lower than the day before. Sunday is the 19th, so we'll be solidly in the pre-rut, and just over two weeks to go till peak rut here.

Planning on being in a tree when the rain stops Sunday, and back out before work Monday morning.
 
Unfortunately, some of the models are suggest that cool-down will be brief: only Monday and Tuesday mornings being very cool. After that, some of the models are returning us to Indian Summer until Halloween.

Long, long range models suggest first freeze will occur 2nd weekend of MZ.

Man, don't like hearing that. Im ready for that first frost.

second week of ML??? I don't like that consult the weather people and let them know absolute latest for the first freeze is first week of November. 😂

in all seriousness I don't look out any further than 15 days, and I don't see any REAL cold weather in the forecast except for this cool down this weekend. Was wondering when we could expect the first frost. Hopefully the long term forecasts change.

I'm so disappointed with the timing. I'm out of state for two weeks and driving back over the weekend but can only take my boy on juvi on Saturday when its in the low 80s. We'll be out in Tshirts.

I love that forecast just make it hold tru BSK. My 2 weeks of vacation starts Saturday of last week of muzzleloader and runs through opening week of rifle
 
I believe last two years muzzle load has started out warm, don't bank much on predictions much this far out.

Neither do I! Honestly, the models have come a long ways. I remember when anything beyond 3 days was a guess. Now they are getting pretty good out to a week. But beyond that, not so good.
 
Models have really back off on the idea of returning to Indian Summer. Most now have a sustained cool-down.

Some of the models now have a potential freeze mid-week of MZ opener, but still a hard freeze 2nd weekend.

my favorite time is that time between juvy and muzzzloeader opener. scraping is ramping up, woods is beautiful and no one is really hunting. great opportunity if we can squeeze in some cool weather
