Got my first banded dove this evening !! Was a good hunt, had a Missouri limit within a hour and 22 shots fired. Recovered every bird downed and that is whats important to me, I hate loosing game. Not to shabby for a first hunt of the season.
A tuff season so far as spots are limited because of no corn fields have been cut and have not seen the planted sunflower fields that are normally around here although there are some somewhere as 10 of them had sunflower seeds in them.
This bird was banded in the next county south of me on July 19th.
 
That is awesome man.

Been checking every bird I have killed ever since I learned that they banded doves.

Never found one though.

Yes sir, I think they are doing more of than they used to, atleast in Missouri. I wouldn't even begin to guess how many I have killed over the years and this was my first. Actually had a little insight as a local agent is using some of my ground as baiting stations to trap and band. He had a quota of 800 to catch and band in his area. Was kinda surprised to see this one was from a county over and south.
