Always check to see if one is loaded yourself,even in a gunshop,AND,keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. ESP. in shops that have them out on display for all to handle even if they have Trigger Locks and Cables. My favorite type of shop BTW.
I was in one such shop yesterday evening and although the Firearms in question weren't loaded, they were fully operatable even with the locks and security cable in place. Both were Win Model 94's.
Either the person who put them out on the rack wasn't thinking or somebody removed the cable ties around the lever of both.
I did tell the counter clerk about them, hopefully they fixed the problem.
