I was watching the Paul Finebaum show this afternoon and a Tennessee Caller with 'Ties to the University" brought up Gruden again. He started by asking Paul if he knew that Warren Buffet had just bought controlling interest in Flying J and Pilot (AKA Haslam family.) The caller didn't name his sources but said a highly respected and highly placed person in UT's hierarchy said that Haslam and others are wiling to pay Gruden and staff of his choice whatever he wants to come to Tennessee.

Finebaum replied, A week ago I would have laughed at you and said no way. However, I was at Tennessee this past weekend and was told by one of my highly placed and usually correct sources the very same thing about Gruden.

I didn't know that they fired CBJ already? Of course the Haslam family has a lot of money tied up in the NFL at this moment. Well time will tell but even if they throw the bank at Gruden doesn't mean that he's a can't miss hire. Snoop has already taken that title..... :D
 
From what I've read which is not much.

Finebaum was told by someone he had A lot of trust in & has deep ties to the program that if the vols lose to UGA that Gruden would be the vols top target.

Of course the vols got smacked 41-0
 
Watching Gruden in a corona beer commercial as we speak.

I'm sure he is waiting by is phone to get paid from UT :rotf: :rotf:

Here come the Grumors again! I'm not buying into them, but I am surprised by Finebaum reporting this. I guess anything is possible, but until it actually happens, it ain't happening.
 
Currie hopefully is smarter than previuos coach hires, don't fire the coach till you have a replacement!!! Hint LSU!! Actually besides the screw up against florida I think Stoops has done pretty good, the defense was gassed in Georgia game because the offense gave them no break
