I had just about given up killing a deer on archery this year. I've been after one old doe all season, but just couldn't seal the deal. When I decided that I would take the first opportunity on any deer, that opportunity never happended. Untill yesterday evening. Right at dusky dark, after watching a million tree rats all day I heard somthing coming behind my stand. I slowly turned and lo and behold there was a lone doe feeding on acorns. [not the doe I had been after all season] She finally got to the right of me and as she lowered her head to feed, I center punched her with a 100 grain Muzzy. She made a dash and I heard her crash at the bottom of one of the deepest hollers on my place. It was a long drag, but well worth the effort. I just finished the butchering chores and will be having some fresh tenderloin for supper. Sorry, no pics, it was late when I got her to the house, and I still had to skin and quarter and put her on ice. But if you've seen one dead doe you've pretty much seen them all, lol.
Gotta love bow hunting!!!!
