Finally...seeing some birds

Hadn't seen anything so far this year here on the farm. Heard one gobbling on roost a couple weeks ago, but that's been it.
Just looked out on the hill...4 HUGE adult toms...full strut. One lonely hen out there with them. With those odds... calling one in should be a breeze. Probably run over my arse...

Season opens next Saturday. This Saturday is youth season.

Ironically...where they are is less than 200 yards from where that one was gobbling on roost. Wide open pasture, but maybe I can make it happen. Wife says I won't be able to shoot. I'm thinking...that's nearly 2 weeks post surgery... surely I can get one shot off. I'll still have staples, so shouldn't come apart.
