Plan on being there tuesday. A buddy of mine talked to a creel clerk about the new limits. According to him (from a biologic perspective) it will be a good thing in years to come.

I'd like to know what good thing is to come. Sauger is not a trophy fish and there has never been a shortage, even with the heavy spring fishing that has gone on for years, and years, and years. What's to gain? The rest od Tennessee has 10 fish limit, why were we slighted. I know the answer but not going to get into the almighty TWRC.
 
The limit on Douglas is designed to protect the females and allow you to keep the males. This allows for a natural spawn and less stocking.

I am the one that talked to the creel clerk. I told him I didn't like the new limit and asked why we dropped from a 15" minimum to no size limit? His answer was that out of 2000 fish measured and sex determined that well over 90% of sauger over 15" on douglas were female.

He went on to explain that they are trying for a better natural spawn and less stocking.

I sure miss the day of taking home 10 sauger over 15" though ;)
