Only my 3rd trip of 2025 due to terrible winds on my off days.

Less than 1ft seas, launched at 530. Got to my flounder spot and someone had already beat me to it.

Decided to work trout on topwater, and struggled until I saw one bust a shrimp 80y away from all the structure on a flat. Got on a topwater bite that was every cast for about 45 minutes... all 14 to 16in fish. Kept 5 legal ones for supper, then headed off to other spots to look for flounder. Caught a 20in doormat, but none others. No reds in the marsh that I could find. The duo at my favorite spot had left, so I fished it and picked up another 5 keeper flounder, lost a couple more boat flipping them, and had 3 or 4 shorts.

Bounced around for reds again, but couldn't find any. Im out of fishing shape, and my back was aching by noon, and im not yet used to 105d heat indices, so I called it a day. Still pleased with the day, though. Plenty of fresh fish for 2 suppers!
