I've hunted the same 106ac farm my whole life. My farm is half pasture and half wood lots. I mostly get busted trying to sneak from woodlot to woodlot when the turkeys are in a field. I usually have to step over logs and trees. I get caught up in green briar and make all sorts of noise especially where green briar and barbed wire meet (leafy suit magnets!!). Well I finally went in with a chainsaw, blower and pruners and cleared a nice walkway around my farm up against the line fence. Next week I'm gonna pile up some cedars I cut along the walkway where cover is a bit thin. I also left some brush leaning up against big oaks where I'll likely set up for extra cover in open hardwoods. A person could do what I did on ANY land you hunt. I didn't cut hardly anything over wrist diameter at the bottom. Now if I could have my son or friends cut some distant trees while I sit in my treestand I'd really be set for this fall.
