I went and bought myself a Bad Boy Buggy. I have always had a couple of Rangers at the farm but have been tempted to buy an electric cart for a while. Well, this thing is friggin' awesome! All you hear when driving is the tires. On roads with more dirt than gravel, the tires hardly make a sound. I never drove my Ranger by or near any bedding areas on my way in or out of the farm. If the wind is right, I will have no problem doing it in this machine. On the way out this morning, I drove within 25 yards of two does before they ever noticed me. It does not have as much cargo room as the Ranger and the power, while really good, is nowhere near the same as the Ranger. But if this thing is reliable, I will be a believer. Time will tell...

That's a good question and was my main concern. My friend has gotten a few years out of his but he has to maintain them every month - clean the terminals and add water. I doubt I will be as diligent. If I can get a couple years out of them, I will be ok with that. It costs about $1200.00 to replace the batteries, so I think I can justify $600 a year to operate the thing based on the benefit of no noise.

Exactly. If you have any questions about Bad Boy, just holler. We see guys that don't maintain batteries properly and spend $1500 a year to replace them. We are a service center for Bad Boy. They can be expensive to maintain, though, should something go wrong. Not much that can go wrong with them, but what does go wrong, is usually expensive.
 
I'm right there with you CAW...been doing my research for a couple of months now. I might go the reconditioned route, but am totally sold on silent (even if I have to sacrifice some power).

A friend of mine had one of these on his farm and it is no joke how scary close he could get to wildlife. I believe you will enjoy your new toy. Good luck

Did you look at the hybrid version ? The one's with the gas motor and electric combo ?

Yes, I looked at the hybrid, but it does not have the same electric performance as the Recoil and charging the batteries with the gas engine takes several miles. I decided to go all electric for the better performance and I will simply charge as needed.

And yes, it does a great job on steep grades. It really is an impressive machine and I wish I would have bought one earlier.
