This final waterfowl report from Mid-South waterfowler Scott May.

"Well, I waited around for some positive news and got none.
The consensus is that '09-'10 was a horrible duck season; sure there were the occasional limit hunts for 4-5 people with 4 mallards per gun, but they were few and far between.
When top clubs start taking 50% ring necks to fill out the limit, things are bad in the mid-south.
Glad I did not make a big investment in duck hunting property or, for that matter, duck loads. Bass Pro has plenty of the latter, and I bet you can get deep discounts in the former.
The typical "good" club/property was down 1/3 to 1/2 from historical averages.
Just wait until next year, when we start feeling the effects of hundreds of thousands of acres in North and South Dakota being taken out of CRP; thus bad nesting for what has become our main nesting area.
My new deer rifle should get a lot of use this Fall.
Turkey season is just around the corner and turkeys do not migrate!!"

Being taken out of crp! Hell all that money we pay to the great du people should take care of that, thats bull duck hunting is slowly going down hill!

Thank the lovely ethanol subsidies for our losing all that valuable CRP land.

Ethanol: The most expensive, inefficient, destructive "natural fuel" we could ever hope to find! LOL

If you believe ethanol is "saving" us anything, I'd like to have a discussion with you twenty years from now to see if you still hold that view.
