Just getting around to putting a couple videos together of the kid's deer hunts. They are pretty good if I do say so myself!

My 6 yr old boy takes his first deer.... and he worked hard for it. He helped in the food plot, helped work on the stand, put in plenty of time practice shooting, and made quite a few trips to the stand, etc. I don't know who was more excited him or me... but I doubt either one of us will forget it anytime soon!

Amy Faith, being a senior in high school stays pretty busy, so she wasn't able to hunt till her Christmas break, but was able to get a late season buck down. Both great hunts and proud to be apart of the next generation learning to hunt.

Great videos. Thanks for sharing.

The last video i couldn't tell if it was a hit or not, i kept telling myself please let him have hit that deer!

Some great family moments there. These are some of the best moments I had with my boys. I wish I had videoed them but the cameras were about the size of mailboxes back then.

Re: Filmed 2 Deer Huntsj

Thx guys for he kind comments! We appreciate it. My boy (6) also go his first turkey this past spring and y'all were kind to give him a prize for the top 3 youth turkey hunt stories. So thank y'all for encouraging him and adding to the excitement of a great sport!

Rem270 - I'm with you I was just hoping he had hit the deer! Honestly I was so focused on my boy that I missed the deers reaction to the shot. Also being so focused on the boy I didn't keep with the camera - but successfully filming the hunt was def secondary in this case.

My first thought when I saw the deer enter the woods was he missed. I watched the footage back to see the deers reaction and realized the deer had just about walked off frame. But honestly I was still thinking it looks like he missed.

Talking with my boy Decker John, in the stand I asked if the cross hairs were still when he squeezed- like we had practiced. He said he had them good but as he squeezed they moved a little right. I immediately said to myself he got that deer if he knew exactly where those cross hairs were.

We got down and immediately found hair and blood in the food plot. Has I stepped into the woods I cud immediately see the deer bc he got stopped by an old broken down fence that surrounds the field. He had hit the deer a little right (back) just like thought and got the back of one lung and mainly liver it looked like. So it's prob good that we gave the deer some time before getting down.

Man awesome video. That just makes me feel good right there. Those are definitely video you will cherish for a lifetime. Great job!

Great memories there! Your son is obviously proud of his deer and I love the final scene where you and your daughter are dragging the buck together! Again, congratulations to both kids. :)
