I have long rows of briar patches along my field edge. It's so thick you can't even see into them. Should I leave all this stuff standing or should I mow it? Do deer like this stuff?

LEAVE IT STANDING! It's called an "ecotone," a transition from one type of habitat to another. And yes, deer use it.

Cool, i was thinking that if I cut a small trail I may be able to manipulate the deers into coming down it. That would be an awesome bow setup!

wishful thinking

trim paths a few feet wide through it to make a deer trail based on stands you plan on hunting.

Yes, most definetly do this!

if placed strategically, it will bring the deer right by your stand for bowhunting.

A simple weedeater with a brush blade will suffice.

Not only will the transition edge be an attractant to deer, it also provides one of the best foodsources if it's got the same stuff that mine have (mixture of coralberry, greenbrier, and honeysuckle)

Yea, I'm definitely leaving it! I jumped a covey of quail in it over the weekend.

First time I've seen those little guys in two years!!
