...boom. Turkeys on my farm are STILL in winter flocks but knowing after a rain they like to loaf, preen feathers, and dry out in fields I knew where to start. Soft calling and scratching in the leaves finally peeled off 6-8 hens, then the wad of 8-10 jakes, and finally 3 toms. Squeezed the trigger just after 11a.

Congrats! In SW TN, it is definitely a great day to find them in a field or other opening. Scratching wet leaves tells you just how good they can hear.

Sweet scatter gun, what's the info on it
H&K / Fabarm 20ga with .580 chokes in both barrels, I just use different shells for my long vs. short barrel. Needed my long barrel this morning at 42 yards and his neckbones absolutely felt like a combination of pea gravel and crushed saltine crackers when I dressed him out.

He crumpled like an anvil fell on his neck.
