Yes yes and oh yes!

Lots of difference.
It depends on what you want in a dog and the breed.

Most fiest will stay closer and use site and sound to tree sq.

Currs use smell to tree. And can range longer. Lots of people will use them for day time squirrel and nite on coon.

Curr will eat more, fiest is lot less.

You will get more trees with a curr, but mostly more meat with a fiest.

Fiest are 30 pounds and less and currs are 30 pounds plus.

It also depends on the breed, such as my cur runs far and wide, but he is part walker.

Before you decide talk to the breeder about what his dogs do or even take a hunt with them.

They are many options to think about.

Check out www.sqdog.com and you will learn a lot.

I dont know enuff to say but its a good question, kinda wundered myself just what really defines the difference between the breeds other than size.

Would love to have a good squirrel dog, had a couple curs but they were green and I didnt have the time or know how to train them rite so I gave them to a friend, but keep think'n about gett'n one thats already started.

I prefer a mtn feist myself. You kinda get the best of both worlds. A small dog that will tree by nose and sight. I don't like having to go look for my dogs so i want one that will not go out any futher than 300 yds before comming back and checking in with me. One thing I have noticed is my dogs will go father at night than day. In the end you just have to figure out what is best for your hunting.
