Done alittle scouting this morning. A lot of fresh sign in the woods. Fresh rubs and scrapes, even found a shed beside a rub. Guess he knocked it off trying to rub the tree.

I wish my lease had this kind of sign. I walked for 3 1/2 hours, and all I was able to find was a few areas of droppings. The 7 I killed last fall had some rubs, but I didn't venture down that part of the lease.

That is a great picture! Impressive rub! I haven't ever seen one skint off that much. Must be a sign post rub, where multiple bucks rub the same tree.

This area was logged several years ago and growing up with young poplar trees. The deer love to rub them, but it isn't a sign post rub. Most all of the sign post rubs on this property are either cedar or pine. I have hunted this property for 36 years and there are a couple true sign post rubs on it. They rub them so much it usually kills them and they start using one in the general location. I put a trail cam on one of them in Sept. and left it til Jan. There were 14 different buck that used it during that time frame. Because the pine is rather large, if they couldnt get their horns around it to rub it. They just rubs their head and face on it.
