One of my coworkers told me yesterday she took her dog out to pee and in her driveway was a very young fawn. From the size of it,seemed to be maybe days/weeks old. I don't have any reason to doubt her, because I have trail cam pics of a month or so old fawn in January a couple of years ago. Just crazy. I asked her to take a pic next time she sees it so I could get an idea how "small" this fawn was.

My question to all of this is: Why would a doe be going into heat in the middle of the summer?

All part of the variability of Nature. Variability is built into the system. That's what Natural Selection uses to fine tune a local population's "best fit" to the environment. In some environments, peak breeding in July or August is best for the long-term survival of the species. In other areas, a November rut is best. In still other environments, a January or February rut is best. Without variability to work from, Natural Selection would have nothing to work with--there would be no "better" characteristic to favor.

All Natural Selection does is "favor" variations that are helpful while selecting against variations that are harmful.

I saw a pair of very young spotted fawns in mid Jan one year, latest ive ever saw young spotted fawns!

What I would give to be as smart as Charles Krauthammer! He's one of my personal heroes.

If Charles Krauthammer ran for President in 2016 as an "independent", I believe he would likely win. And I believe he is capable of the true leadership we need to save our country.

Charles is the man!!!

You surely don't mean to imply this Charles Krauthammer guy is smarter and better for the country than Obama!?!?

hehe I better duck outta here fast before I get tar and feathered! :)

I think an average people picked at random off the street would be "smarter and better" for the country than Obama. Obama's a radical extremist with views in opposition to Liberty.

I agree, BSK.
Obama has also proven himself to be inherently dishonest, having no integrity whatsoever. His word is worthless.
But even this he will blame on someone or something else, i.e. he has a disease, as a pathological liar.

Charles is brilliant, but he doesn't have the look that the media is wanting. After all, the media selects our President nowadays. Obama was crowned the night he won his first senate race in Illinois. all is heard about for the next week was the " charming charismatic black senator from Illinois". That really worked out for us

You THINK an average person would be better? Haha I believe you KNOW he would! I'd go so far as to say that the average cat picked at random from a dumpster would be better for the country than obama. :)

Anything can happen in nature. I just saw a little girl with four arms and four legs and she was about 3-years old. This was in India.

The average person on the steet WERE the people who elected HIM  I don't give the "average" person a lot of credibility. Most of which should NOT be allowed to "blow their own nose" let alone vote IMO.
