After reading the topic about red oak vs. white oak trees, I have noticed over the years of deer walking through the woods full of acorns until they get to a certain tree then stop and eat for a long while then move on. It is my opinion that they have a favorite tree they like to go eat at. Anybody else have the same opinion or different opinion?

I have heard the same thing too. guess is that not all acorns taste the same, and one may taste a lot better, mainly due to genetics and possibly other conditions. An example relating to my own experience is tasting pawpaw fruit from different stands of trees. there can be a wide variety of flavors, some really good and some insipid.

It's true...although I have no reason why? I call them money trees. But I have found they vary from season to season. To find them it's really quite simple. Find the tree with the highest concentration of deer droppings and post on it. How scientific is that?
