I just ordered the new Buck 110, 50th Anniversary Edition. It should pair nicely with my lever action 30-30 trapper, old school! Can't wait to see how it does come field dressing time. What's your favorite knife during deer season?

For field dressing I love my Havalon piranta. However its not the best for splitting the hip. I have to pull out my old buck knife for that.

i got a case from my daughters a couple years ago. it's a 4 inch fixed blade and i got to break it in last year. I've got a wood handled fixed blade that is 8 inches. not even sure the brand . got it when i was 15 and have used it for years.

I've been using a Case XX Ridgeback for about 20 years now. It was my first hunting knife.

I've always been a Case man,but for some reason my wife bought me a 10.00 Camilus knife from wal mart.I gutted, skinned, and butchered a deer Saturday, and it held a nice edge.I hit it three times on a rod and was razor sharp again.

Finally gutted one on Saturday with the Buck 110 I got for Christmas. So far I love that knife. My left index finger hates it but I've come to realize that if I'm not cutting myself at least once a week in not using knives much at all. Lol

Before the buck knife I used my budget Kershaw 3160 which I still love that knife

I'm ole school, my Buck 110 is all I need for gutting, skinning, or even cutting up through the sternum.
Don't get caught up in the hype of needing anything else.

Tennessee Lead I have the exact knife! The gut hook is dull, Ive tried to sharpen it but made it worse any suggestions?

Unfortunately I don't , I've never used the gut hook. I have the blade shaving sharp with my Lansky kit. They advertise a gut hook sharpener but I've never tried it so I ain't sure how good it will sharpen.

Used a buck 110 with finger groves for years. Broke the tip on time sent it back they put a brand new blade polished all the brass and sent it back all for free.

I've got a Browning folding knife my father in law gave me 8 years ago. I'll use it until it falls apart or the blade breaks.

I have a Remington folding knife much like a 110 that my dad got me when I was 15. It is a good knife, I reckon I will always use it.

My uncle gave me that knife when I was 10 or 11. For the life of me I can't find it anywhere.
