Since that other thread I posted asking about gills, I figured why not ask what some favorites are. What's your favorite freshwater fish to eat, or maybe more specifically, your favorite fish limited to Tennessee?

I haven't tried very many but fried catfish is always good.

i have to say trout and catfish...thought I havent had very many others.

I do like the freshwater eel for my sushi though! ;)

4 way tie between white bass, yellow perch, bluegill, and crappie.

Although a 1-3lb channel cat or blue is great too.

I guess the best I ever had was sauger.

My favorite is catfish fillets from Boyettes.
You get full then get up and walk away.
No prep work or cleanup. :D

Bream(Bluegills,Redears, etc.)
Crappie, Small Bass
White Bass are very good if you cut the red meat off the fillet.
Just about any of the so-called game fish are good.
I eat catfish fillets or whole small fish just about every time that I go to a restaurant. Like Ruger says, hassle free.

And Boyettes, Lakeview and the Pier were my favorite sources of "hassle free" fried crappie, until the Reelfoot sale of crappie ceased.

1. Walleye / sauger
2. Crappie
3. Bream
4. Trout
5. Bass
6. Catfish

That's down here. If I was back up in the UP of Michigan, smelt and smoked redhorse sucker would be up at # 3, and northern pike would be at #5.
