I'm just looking to see if I can find someone that has done a fast twist 243 throated long looking for velocity ideas and any info you may have learned with it

:x h7That combo is John Whidden's combo of choice. He has a website, possibly info there, or just give him a call. He shoots it in long range events,
and has done very well.

Sounds like a very wise choice.
I'm shooting 108 eldm out of my 6 CM with stellar accuracy.
Loaded some 105 Hvld for hunting, very easy to obtain great accuracy.
I'm using some RL-16 so far.
Not much difference in 243 and 6 CM

I'm gonna use it mostly for prone matches and just shooting with buddies I'm thinking of loading the 95g Sierra TMK really just wanting the highest bc bullet I get get closest to 3200 FPS

I would think the hornady 105 hpbt and RL16 or RL 17 would be king.
I know a guy that claims that combo is his preferred choice.

But a real bc test I can only get the Hornady to a .477 and the tmk a .494 and can push the 95 all the way to 3200 FPS I don't think I will be able to get that with the 105

Curious: if you have to rebarrel and will have to load your own, then is 243 case the way to go compared to other 6mm clambering like the CM or Dasher? Does it have more capacity for potentially higher velocity?

If the 6mmCM would of had more available factory loads and lower costs, I would have gone with that over the 6.5CM for most of my purposes.

From what I've read the 243 has 5% more case capacity but I've had the 6 cm and the dasher. The dasher is a absolute wicked but I don't like fire forming and the brass is expensive

I don't remember exactly how long you did the freebore for me, but with 105 Scenars the oal was 2.820 with a .020 jump to lands, I could run enough H4350 to get 3200 fps and with RL23 I was at 3300 fps, both with outstanding accuracy,,,only bad thing was it was so fun to shoot that I toasted the barrel pretty dang fast..
