Fall turkeys are NOT spring turkeys

Yes, they gobble, yelp, putt and purr. They are not the same in fall as they are spring. Gobblers are everywhere and it doesn't matter if you have orange on or a facemask. They come close and stay all day. I had 2 groups of gobblers pay their respects to a dead doe from earlier in the morning.

I know exactly what you mean. I've even thought I'll wear orange in the spring and hopefully make the turkeys think its fall and I'm just deer hunting.

I had them hold a meeting over a dead coyote. They would walk over to it and then go. Ack and huddle as if they were talking about the crazy coyote just lying there.

I will never understand the desire to fall hunt them. It lacks everything that's the joy of spring hunting. To each his own I guess.

Spent many a day in a tree enjoying watching them putt around. Entertaining until something worth throwing a stick through comes by.

If I could only hunt them in the fall I probably wouldn't hunt them. Just not the same. Have at least 11 hens down below me now.
