No it's not the fact that the flock is so good at staying 1 step ahead of me. It's the fact that I have turkeys in range when bowhunting, and deer in range when turkey hunting.
Yesterday evening I climbed over the trail where I saw a bunch of does in the morning. Saw the turkeys but didn't see a deer.
This morning I was going to another spot, but had left my harness in the woods. So I went to a quick n easy spot and sat on the ground, actually saw 5 deer 10-20 yards but got busted twice cause I didn't have enough ground cover.
So I head back to turkey ridge to try and shoot a bird and pick up my harness.
Should have just went for the harness first thing and deer hunted here. 10 AM I had a doe come by on the same trail I hunted over yesterday, just 25 yards from where I'm sitting now. And the turkeys have yet again moved off one step ahead of me. Now to go and try to catch up with these birds...
I hate to think this is my last morning I will hunt till after the Juvi. Deer have been moving good the past couple mornings, but more spotty in the evening.
