You are totally correct sir! We were fishing one summer out there and a storm was coming in so we docked at one of the shelters out towards the middle of the lake. Before we could get to the shelter, only 20 yards from the bank, we found 5 copperheads! Back in the boat we went!Hunted there years ago before better deer were easier to find elsewhere. During archery season that place is copperhead central! The first time one struck my boot it hung a fang, thats when I learned to dance! Thats where I learned to step on a deadfall not over it. Its also why my bow hunting boots are snake boots to this day! It was common to encounter 5 to 7 adult copperheads per visit. Its a nice place in cold weather...
