Anyone going on this hunt this year it being a non quota hunt? Think its November 2-9... I know muzzleloader opens but this hunt worth it to some of you?
I used to hunt this one, but never saw a deer. Its amazing to me how they disappear opening day over there. You have to get WAY, WAY off the roads to find something I guess, but there is no doubt monsters running there.
I haven't made the hunt in 2 years but hunted it for about 3 years in a row! 2 on the draw hunt and after the draw hunt it is open to the public to hunt! But we saw deer every year we went and shot a few! The bucks up there are HUGE and very smart! Only got a shot on one buck and it was chasing a doe! We hunted way off the road where we saw nobody! if you hunt in the park by the roads you will see 10000000000 hunters and it makes you made!! Go behind the park on the CC roads!! I have hunted it four times and saw deer every time... Two really good ones just out of how range and last year my brother missed a monster at 20 yards!!! I'm going back this year to the same spot. It's a long hard walk to where I hunt but it pays off most of the time.
Long walk being the key there for sure. Good luck!
