Going Saturday, second time I've been drawn. Buddy killed a big 8 three years ago. I saw lots of big does. Hope this time is different. Anyone hunted there before?

Been there for a weekend with the family. What do you hunt them with, a noose? They walk right up to you. Talk about an easy hunt. LOL

Haha it changes when the hunters start to file in. Some really big bucks in there but I know for a fact u gotta get deep in the woods. (Where I will be)

I'd hunt around the twelfth hole on the back 9... :)

Seriously, get away from the crowd.

Oh trust me I know... I park at a turnaround for hunters but I walk on the main road about 10 minutes then hit the woods to where I'm going for another 10. So yeah I'm a good ways from anyone.

True, if you could hunt in the safety zone. But you can't, so it is a very tough hunt.

But there are some monsters there.

Good luck G8!

Yep, it is always our 1st choice on the list. I'll be up there and waaaaay back in there! :)

A lot of people don't like it because it falls on opening muzzleloader.... That's why I like it. :)

I've been drawn the last 4 years. I have friends that live within a 5 minute drive from the park & I get beaucoup opportunities to scout. In 4 years I've seen exactly 1 deer & that was run off by 2 slobs spotlighting in a white Toyota truck.
This year I've been drawn again, but I'm giving it a miss. Altogether too many folks for my liking. Last year I'd been up my tree for an hour & 3 others in a group decided to hang stands withing 50 yards of me. Even after I whistled, hit them with my flashlight & shouted at them :(
Everyone seems to think it's an 'easy hunt' because there are deer all over during the summer.
It is without a doubt one of the hardest places to hunt I think I've ever been!

3 years ago, 9 of us hunted the open week. All day sits or twice a day, all week long, for all 9 of us. Total deer sightings: 3

U have to get a long way away from the parking areas... Those areas are to accessible for most lazy hunters. I park and hit the main road and walk a long way before I ever step foot in the woods. I have always seen plenty of deer. So has my buddy. The last time I went was the Friday of the open weekend and that evening not 2 hours in stand saw two bucks and seven does. About 60-70 yards from me. One really big one.

Been going for twelve years now. Love hunting there. Will be there Sunday. Shot a few good deer over the years. Never been easy. Always see deer, some years more than others.

I have seen several good bucks, and a couple that I know would make B&C (one bumped into my tree last year in a full out sprint chasing a doehe got a 2-way radio thrown at him trying to get him to stop), along with many, many does; however, the trick is to get as far away from where the masses are and let them push deer your direction as the pressure increases from everyone else tromping around. Our walk in is just under 1 hour.

Who all is going to be camping up there this weekend.
