fall creek falls help please

I finally got drawn for the fall creek falls hunt. Can someone give me some insight and direction to start from. I have never hunted there but know it has some really nice bucks.

I buddy (not hunting friend from church) was there, several years ago, during a hunt. He said, "Every car had a deer tied to hood!"

So, it should be easy!

Start at the riding stables, then go from there.

Don't know if it is legal but I see them when I golf up there. Maybe around the golf course it is okay to hunt it.

Last year there was a total of 10 deer taken during the entire three day quota hunt out of 250 drawn hunters I think�it is hard hunting up there. You will see a ton of deer and some huge deer around the golf course and campground, but unfortunately those areas are off limits. However, there are some very nice deer up there, but you have to get away from the masses to get to them. Look at a good mapper like this one http://mapper.acme.com/ and compare it to the wma map and look for funnels and terrain features that will force deer to traveling those areas away from people. That being said, that weekend is typically right in the middle the chase phase, so all bets could be off and if you see a buck, and you might see alot of bucks, but stopping them might be another problem�last year I got mad and threw my walkie-talkie at a 150+ trying to break him out of the run he was in chasing a smaller buck that was chasing a doe. FCF is only about 1 1/2 hours away from Gallatin, so getting some boot leather in the woods shouldn't be a problem and is highly recommended unless you're used to hunting "mountain deer".

I don't know what your plans are, but we always campout in the campground, which is very nice by the way, and will be loaded with hunters�it is something that we always look forward to every year that we draw it.

I was planning on bringing the whole family (wife, 7yo with one deer already, and 8 month) so I doubt campground but would really like to meet some members. I do plan on staying nearby.

Maybe we'll see you there. Since your going to have the family with you, I would check the the Park Inn, which is actually located within the Park and they have a restuarant in there as well, where you could either stay at the Inn itself or rent one of the adjacent cabins.
