Factory vs Reloads

It never gets old seeing how reloads can change a grouping. This is a factory Remington 308 I've been messing with this week. Upgraded stock and trigger

Which group is factory and which are the reloads?

The only factory ammo that I have seen that can compete with handloads is Hornady ELD-M and Hornady Black, for the 6.5 CM that is. That stuff is used in matches even, and wins.

It is a great comfort to know you are going to hit exactly what you aim at.

There are several really good factory target ammo available, if you can find them and if you can afford them. But hand loading will bring out the best in any rifle.

The best factory ammo for grouping so far has been the Hornady Black 5.56. I've yet to get groupings with my loads to match it but I'll have a lot of fun getting there.

I do have some Remington factory ammo for my 300 RSAUM that shoots impressive out to 300 yards.

Nice when you get a load tuned to your rifle. Have found that I can load premium bullets and get better groups than any factory ammo I have tried with all the guns I load for. I never paid for any high end factory hunting ammo though.

To the OPs comment, yes, it never gets old, and I still get that giddy feeling when a load dials in. Seeing the groups walking in, then BOOM that tiny little group you've been looking for appears, it's a great sense of accomplishment for sure.
