Burn a wine cork and rub it on your face. Wipes off with water. Duck hunters been doing it for awhile.

Get ready for some people to give you a hard time about it.
I started wearing face paint just during early bow, because the facemask I would wear got to Hot! Even the real thin ones they still covered my mouth or nose making them Hot.
A thin layler of paint that didn't cover my mouth or nose was much more comfortable when its 80 degrees out. Most the time I could not tell I had anything at all on my face.
When a thread started about facepaint once some People on TNdeer said stuff like.
"People only wear it to be cool"
"People only wear it because The T.V. hunters use it"
"Only the young Newbie hunters use face paint"
And some other crazy false statements.

Objective is to reduce glare and/or reflection of sunlight. i tried it in the 1980's when I was hunting mule deer on the open plains of NW Colorado. If you move or they smell you you know why they call it Busted. Camo paint won't help if you ignore the wind or can't be still o rmake tons of noise.

Seems face paint would solve a lot of those issues .
And yes I get the whole wind issue, I check wind with weather.com before leaving the house and first thing I do when I hit the ground is verify wind with windicator, been doing this a min.

When I wear something on my face, it's face paint. I just don't like a face mask deer hunting. I use the hunter specialties compact looking thing. It looks like a woman's compact, and it even has a mirror in it. I usually just smear some on black, brown, gray, all just a jumbled mess of colors. Plus baby wipes will get it off easily for the drive home.
I have had a few times where I forgot out it being on my face and got some strange looks going through town. Probably thought I was going to a Halloween party.

I use it now and have for 25 years. I do whatever I can to increase the chance that deer won't realize I'm not a tree limb.

Im very quite and very still. I also take very careful steps to keep my clothing descented as much as possible and eliminate as much human smell from me as possible.HenryCohunter":2s7am56v said:

Ive been happy with the face mask I have been using the last 20 + years. Can't seem to find anything like it. Everything I have tried just does not seem to work well for me. Ive practised with several different ones and all of them give me some sort of grief. Maybe its just my OCD kicking in.
