Not sure why, but I am REALLY excited about fishing this year.
Working on my new cricket box and gonna have non-ending bait for the bream this year.
Gonna get me a counter for Christmas and I have created an excel spreadsheet to use this year.
Gonna keep up with every fish I (and man) catch this year and log whether we kept them or not.

Just something extra to look at.
Should be interesting to have an accurate number of fish caught. :)

Until last year, I had actually never filleted a fish before in my life.
Learning and getting better at that has probably made my interest go up too.
Cooked my first batch last year too and they turned out good. I did learn quickly that temp control is KEY. :D

Just excited. :D

Soon as the weather clears a little I am gonna start cooking on the 3 one-gallon bags of bream fillets we got. :D

I'm ready to start catching em again, and for the table too. When you get done with that cricket box, I'd love to see pics...

I tried the fishing log thing in august of 2011 and didn't log any real small fish like dink bass or small bream but then I got behind and lost track... didn't work too well for me, but it would be cool to have data on every fish you have caught for a year. Good luck with that.

I'm with you Ruger! Lately my mind has been on fishing more than hunting. Rockfish to be exact but that don't start until May for me. There will be oppurtunitys for other fish until then.

When we stop getting excited about things is when we need to worry. I was sitting on stand the other morning thinking about things I will be doing to get ready for next season. Then I said hold on a minute we have a few weeks left in this one. LOL.......I'm also looking forward to some smallmouth fishing just as soon as the youth hunt is over. Hope yall catch a bunch.

Im excited too. Can't wait to catch some crappie after deer season. Then too chasing shallow water smallies.

Good Luck!

My dad made a Cricket box years ago just like in the bait store only scaled down he thought he could just dump them in when he got home and use them the next time, we never could get them to live much less produce. never did figure out why. :(
