I recently purchased a used Exomax and I am getting ready to set it up. Would love to hear opinions on the following:

String
Scope and rings
Bolts
Anything else I should do to it

Thanks,

Jarred

I set one up for my dad. The excalibur website has a forum with lots of great info. I put on a new fast flight string and it came with the excalibur scope. Just remember to keep a check on the string to keep it within the marks on the riser. Shoot the excalibur bolts and muzzy 4 blade 100tip grain. Dont shoot at the same dot twice or you will cut off your fletchings. With a rest it will hit a postage stamp at 40 yards. It will probably take at least 50 shots to get the string broke in.
Hope this helps.

Get the Excalibur "right stuff" package that has everything you need, except the bow itself, and cheaper than buying everything separately. Follow the directions on their DVD and don't get your training from UTube. Learn how to chocolate chip cookie and letdown the bow safely. The scope won't need much adjustment but take the first few shots at close range on a big target and use a good rest. The trigger takes some time to get use to. Shoot at different spots on the target or you will ruin bolts. An extra string is in the kit and you will need it sooner than you think. Always keep a back up, because you will want to change it out before it breaks. The bow stringer in the kit makes it easy to do. Good shooting, you have a great Xbow.

Plenty of ways to set-up yer Excal n they be yer picks. Factory string or optional FFF or Boo Custom. Factory is slowest but best on limbs in case you dryfire, yup thats just a matter of time friend. Boo string can be 6-10 faster than factory cost around $40 each plus shippin. FFF string 10 pfs faster than factory get it from Danny miller Excals string man n warranty in USA man about $14 + shippin. You want a quiver n mount ? I don't have one on mine i just tote it in back pak. Scopes lots of decent one's no great crossbow one's on the market yet. Arrows carbon or alum. ? The more you add onto yer Bow the more weight you tote n ackward it gets!
