This deer has been coming around the last few days and I noticed an issue with her legs. First day I thought it might have been diarrhea (do deer even get this?) but after another day and a closer look realized that's not the case. Perhaps maybe a burn from some chemical? We've got farm land close by, most of which is planted in corn this year. Notice on the rear view how it goes up and around the rump. Any ideas?

She looks healthy. There seems to be a clear pattern there. The discoloration ends at the same place on both back legs. I would think if it was something she walked through like a chemical it would show up on her front legs and belly too. Just a weird genetic thing IMO.

I think backyardtndeer is correct, it's a mite infestation. We've had this off and on over the years here in upstate NY. I have photos from game cams where it ranges from what you're seeing on this one to where almost the entire body is without hair. Several years ago a young buck was killed by an auto that only had hair left on it's ears.
