that you're just not supposed to get in the woods on a particular day? This was the case with me yesterday. Started out at work with my stomach twisting up in knots. Then on the way home, I call and ask if my wife is picking up our daughter at school, she says no, I'm at a friends house and thought you were. Well, I go to pick her up, and within 5 mi of the school my dash lights pop and blink and the battery light and others come on. Stopped by AZ and had them check it out, bad battery, that I had just purchased there back in March. They replace it, then find out that my altenator is barely charging. Well, looks like $180+ for a new one now. Needless to say, I just went on home.... :tired:

I feel you brother. Last year I was racing home to change and get to the woods. On the way home my transmission sticks(just paid it off that may), I take it to the transmission guy I know and he says oh it's just a cillanoid won't be much. Works two days on it and finds out there is more wrong than that. Gives me cash for truck because he wants a project, so I go to the dealership get me a new truck the next day and think I am heading to the woods again, nope, not happening, I got there and realized my gun wasn't with me.

A month or so ago I was in Rossville hanging stands etc. I drove up to Cousins to grab a bite and sure enough when I came out to my rig, my battery was dead. After realizing that the cheapo jumper cables I had weren't working, a kind fella came up and used his cables and jumped my battery.

Fast Forward to ML Season...Sitting in Cousins eating a burger and eager to get back in the woods, I notice a guy in an older jeep, camo shirt, blaze orange hat, and issues with his battery. I gladly pulled every tool i had in my truck along with duct tape, screw-drivers, etc. His cable was frayed and shorting out. Ultimately got him up and running and down the road.

Moral of the story....We all need a lil help sometime.

I know its not as costly, but the ones that aggravates me the most is the subtle ones... Like arriving after an hour and half drive to realize you left your release at home. It's so tempting to just take the bow and hope you can still pull it off, knowing good and well there is no chance.

Scouting out a place one time. Came out, and dad's truck wouldn't start. Looked under the hood, and the battery looked like a balloon. Walked 5 miles out in the dark with no light (dead batteries, LOL). Did I mention we were scouting for Juvenile? LOL

Tried that once, missed about two foot high and a foot left.

I once forgot my boots. I was wearing flip flops in the truck (it was hot). Decided that I wasn't going to waste a trip and just hunted in my flip flops. I stepped on a locust thorn and it broke off in my foot. I had to have surgery and spent three days in the hospital on iv antibiotics. Ten years later, my wife still never lets me live this down
