he was tellin his school mates about shooting the 338 and bustin jugs at 500,,one of the guys said he could out shoot him against the 338 with a 25-06 on milk jugs at 500,,

I told him that was silly but if he wanted to try it he could shoot against the 25-06 with my CZ 527 Varmint 223,,500 yards is just wasting 338 300 gr bullets,,

heck at 500 in calm wind the CZ will hang pretty good,,

Chances are the other fella is blowin smoke. I say extend an invite to him and his Dad.

Heck they may surprise you and not show up with a plastic stocked rifle, box of remington core lokts, and a $50 wal mart scope.

Probably a good way to start a nice friendship. Everytime i've had something like this happen and they were willing to show up we've become buddies. Ended up wasting a couple whole days shooting and telling stories like this.

As y'all know the 25-06 will do it. As will the 223. But from what I've seen my money is on Ethan. Most people honestly have never taken a 500 yard shot. I haven't 421...is my farthest.

I could even the field and get my Custom Rem 700 25-06 out,,but I really think the 223 will handle the situation,,11 MOA plus 3 clix and three clix left on the M1 knobs is dead nutz at 500 yards,,all you have to do is call the wind and set the trigger and it is over,,
