Will the encore parts interchange with the encore pro hunter parts (stock, barells etc)? And can you get a swing hammer for the older style encore?

If you decide to get a hammer extension get one that extends on BOTH sides of your hammer.

The ones that only extend off of one side will cause (don't ask me how because I have no clue how or why) your gun to misfire.
It won't hit the firing pin "straight" and your bullet / cap will not go off sometimes.
Might not happen often but it WILL happen.

Had it happen to me and through the process of talking about it on here I was told that this was my problem.
I took it off and have never had another mis-fire.

Oh and just for information sake, my mis-fires happened with a centerfire rifle barrel attached, not the muzzleloader.

YMMV

Oh and I am sure there are people out there that have shot thousands of rounds with a one sided hammer extension and have never had a problem.
Just wanted to share my experience with you.

Ruger is correct. It can have misfires, I was told by TC that its the extra weight that causes the misfires. You can take the stock hammer spring out and replace it with a 51 pound that mike belm sells and elimanate that issue and it will also elimanate and misfires with cheap ammo due to primer depth variences.

And if you dont want to go that route, yes you can put the swing hammer in a standard encore. Dont know what is all involed as mine had it installed when I bought it used. And no its not an actual prohunter, I have two of those and know the difference.

Thanks for all the help advice guys really looking forward to playing with this gun this spring/summer. I am going a more econimical route something that dont hit the wallet so hard if i want to do some plink or what not.

If you use an aluminum hammer ext. it will work fine, the steel ones will cause mis-fires. The swing hammer from the Pro Hunter will work in the Encore.
