Just wanted to show a huge brown that my dad caught on a trip up to the Elk River trout waters in July of this year. It was caught on ultralight spinning gear with 4lb test flourocarbon line. The fight was probably 10 minutes long and soon as we got her in the boat the hook fell out when pressure was taken off. I have fished the Elk many times trout fishing and this is the biggest we have ever caught. She was released and hopefully is still swimming around in some deep pools.Notice the fish is so long that its tail is in his crease of his arm.

I caught a brown on the Caney about like that last year. Mine was about 22 inches long. I caught in on the same kinda rig. Got him on a 4.5 foot ultra-light spinning rod with 4 lb flouro witha rooster tail. Man what a fight. Took me about 10 or 12 minutes to get him in. We were in a conoe and he was dragging it against the current. I still dont know how I ever got him to the boat. It was awesome!

I have caught several 21's and 22's. We had no form of measurement in the canoe with us but I would not be scared at all to say that that brown was probably 26 or a little more. Weight was probably around 9 pounds. The pic doesn't do it justice.
 
I'm sure you're a lot further down, but our old farm is right at the bottom of Tim's Ford dam and I fished that section of the river since I was big enough to walk and never saw one that size! Awesome!

We were about 3 miles down.
 
LOL you cut across the late generals Lowe's property and across the old wood bridge didn't you? We used to go down there every once in a while, but mainly to the "turnhole" cause we could drive down the edge of our hay fields right down to it. I couldn't begin to count how many rainbows and browns I've pulled out of that old river.

We used to own the farm bound by vanzant bend, hwy 50, and the river all the way to the first big bend. We had permission to hunt almost every farm nearly to the end of vanzant bend when I was a kid. It used to be a really nice area. :)
