15 years ago the Elk was one of the best kept trout secrets in the state. Then the water temps were changed to allow specific mussel species downstream to survive and it changed the entire eco system of the river. Fishing is still ok but there used to be mega rainbows and browns in the river.

Try it. The worst that can happen is you don't catch anything and your arms get lots of exercise.
