Elk for dinner

Going to cook some elk for the guys who went with me in Oct. going to keep it simple. Salt/pepper/bacon.

The elk has some marbling like beef

I have always heard it is amazing.
Had a buddy who's brother went and killed a cow one year and I was so excited because I was finally gonna get to try some.

The deep freeze he put it all in when he got home went out and it all spoiled.

That looks great though.

That looks really good. I know this guy one time that got drawn for the TN elk hunt and just knew that it was going to be a slam dunk and was looking so forward to having a freezer full of elk meat and a spot picked out on the wall. He still doesn't have any elk meat. However, my I mean his father in law got him a picture of an elk for Christmas to hang on the wall. :tu:

That used to be a 100% success rate hunt. I don't really understand what happened to change things.
